Apple TV+'s "Acapulco" collected six prizes and Andy Garcia received the Lifetime Achievement Award as the 41st annual Imagen Awards celebrated Latino excellence in entertainment Friday, Aug. 21, at The Beverly Hilton.

The now-concluded comedy series dominated the evening, winning best director for Oscar Almengor, best supporting actor for Eugenio Derbez, best supporting actress for Vanesa Bauche, best music supervision for Javier Nuño and Joe Rodríguez, and the Creative Achievement Award. Star Enrique Arrizon tied with Stephanie Beatriz of "Twisted Metal" for best actor in a comedy.

Imagen Foundation founder and president Helen Hernandez presented the Creative Achievement Award to the "Acapulco" team and Apple TV+. She also introduced Garcia's lifetime honor, saying he "represents the very best of what the Imagen Foundation has sought to celebrate for more than four decades," according to TheWrap.

Actor Danny Pino presented Garcia with the award. Garcia then took the stage with the CineSon All Stars, joined by Grammy-winning musician and longtime collaborator Arturo Sandoval for a special performance. Garcia first hosted the Imagen Awards in 1989. That 37-year connection to the foundation made the honor personal.

The ceremony handed out 33 awards total. ABC's "Will Trent" won best drama series, while "Scrubs" took best comedy series. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo earned best actor in a drama for Netflix's "The Lincoln Lawyer," and Dolores Fonzi won best actress for "Belén." "Brownsville Bred" was named best feature film.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, who represents the First District, received the President's Award.

Other winners included Netflix's "Selena y Los Dinos" for best documentary and "¡Que Suene La Banda!" from UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television for best student film.
