A vehicle crashed into a security stand outside the Trader Joe's at 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 3. One person was killed and four others were injured at the busy Beverly Grove intersection.

The crash was reported at about 1:20 p.m. at 7900 W. Third St., across from The Original Farmers Market, according to the Los Angeles Daily News. Los Angeles Fire Department crews arrived to find multiple patients in the parking lot.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAFD Capt. Cody Weireter told reporters the woman who died was possibly in her 30s. Her name had not been released as of Thursday afternoon.

The driver, a 91-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Weireter. She remained at the scene after the crash, according to LAPD.

Three pedestrians were also hurt. A 19-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition. Two women, ages 57 and 30, suffered minor injuries and were also transported, the Daily News reported.

LAPD is investigating the circumstances that led to the collision. KTLA reported that LAFD crews responded around 1:20 p.m. and treated patients at the scene. A canopy was set up in the area as investigators worked, according to Spectrum News.

The stretch of 3rd Street near Fairfax draws heavy foot traffic, sitting across from The Original Farmers Market and near The Grove shopping center. The crash unfolded in the store's parking lot during the middle of a weekday afternoon.

Authorities have not released the identity of the woman who died. Anyone who witnessed the crash can contact LAPD's West Traffic Division.
