A street festival that draws more than 100,000 people to Venice is coming back after two years off the calendar.
The Abbot Kinney Festival will return to Abbot Kinney Boulevard on Sunday, Sept. 27, for its 40th edition, Yo Venice reported. The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and draws more than 100,000 people, according to the festival's website.
Organizers canceled the festival in 2024 and 2025, citing sponsorship challenges and the lingering effects of the pandemic on local businesses.
Patti Reiss, president of the Abbot Kinney Festival Association, called the return meaningful for longtime neighbors, businesses and visitors. The association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds Venice youth, arts and community programs. The festival is its largest annual fundraiser.
The festival includes three performance areas. The Spirit of Venice stage will host live music. The ANNEX area will feature DJ sets. And the KidsQuad offers family programming for younger attendees. Hundreds of local and independent vendors, food trucks and beer gardens will line the boulevard.
Adults 21 and older can access a VIP garden section for a $40 donation.
Getting there without a car is encouraged. Organizers plan free bike valet stations at both ends of the festival route and are urging attendees to bike, carpool or take public transit.
