A 29-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in a parked car in Granada Hills early Sunday, Sept. 13, and a second man was wounded in the same attack.

The Los Angeles Police Department said a suspect walked up to the vehicle near Yarmouth Avenue and Ludlow Street around 1:45 a.m. and fired multiple shots, according to LAPD's press release. The gunman then fled the scene on foot, an LAPD spokesperson told ABC7.

The intersection sits just south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard, according to the Daily News.

Devonshire Area patrol officers had responded to an "ambulance shooting" call at the location. They found two men with gunshot wounds inside the car.

The 29-year-old, who was in the front passenger seat, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. The 25-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital and listed in stable condition.

A third person was also inside the vehicle during the shooting. Police questioned that individual and released them.

LAPD has not released a suspect description. The department's Robbery-Homicide Division, Valley Section, is leading the investigation. The press release did not name a detective or spokesperson handling the case.

KTLA reported that video from the scene showed officers examining a silver Toyota sedan with a shattered passenger-side window. The scene remained active as of 7 a.m. Sunday.

The victim's name has not been released. LAPD has not announced a motive or said whether the victims knew the shooter.
